FAQ

You Ask - I Answer

Have a question you’d like to ask? I’m committed to giving patients the best care and experience I can. There’s no such thing as a bad question when it comes to mental health. Check out the answers to the FAQs below, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any additional questions.

Can you help me?

Yes! I can help you help yourself deal with the issue or problem you are experiencing. I can state this with confidence because you are the expert on yourself, you have the answers and it is my job to help you discover them. I will facilitate this process by listening to what you want to change and exploring with how best to make those changes a reality. We will collaborate together on finding solutions that fit with your individual life. and apply them in order to make positive changes.

How many therapy sessions will I need?

This really depends on two things, the first being what the issue or problem you want to overcome is and the second depends on how much you engage in the process - clients who fully engage and listen to the audio every night see changes a lot quicker. Solution Focus Therapy is brief and very often only a few sessions is enough for clients to see real positive changes in their life, grasp the skills to do so on their own and so are happy to continue their journey alone.  able to continue

Is Solution Focused Therapy for me?

We are all products of our life experiences both good and bad, however it is usually the bad experiences that affect our present lives - tragedy, trauma, heartache can all leave a mark.. SFT doesn't disregard the past but understands that reliving those painful experiences is not going to help move you forward (no doubt you have been doing this yourself and find that you actually make yourself feel worse!). Instead we use techniques that shield you from the pain of the past whilst constantly moving you forward to a more positive place.

How long are the sessions and what appointments do you offer?

Sessions last approximately 1 hour with smoking sessions lasting between 1.5 and 2 hours.
I take appointments on a regular basis at the Avondale Clinic in Haywards Heath.
If you find it difficult to travel or have a busy schedule I can also do appointments via Skype video - please contact me for more details
